Lux best champ, no contest. This was the my first time experimenting with a weapon spin card to emulate a staff spinning really fast. Normally these kind of cards are used for only abilities and attacks, but anime-type animation always uses graphical shapes and motion to illustrate action. You've probably seen in MANY anime shows (and even western 2D series) where fast spinning weapons can be represented by blur lines and a flipping drawing. It's interesting b/c when an object is spinning faster and faster, there's a certain point where the afterimages look like they're moving backwards but our brains process it as just spinning really fast (given the context).
Anyway, to illustrate Lux's personality, I wanted to show Lux failing her class exam at first, but then resolves to her own natural strengths: magic. Where Lux is weak physically, she makes up with talent in other areas. She also shows off her can-do and positive attitude by being happy with how she obliterated the test dummies.
